NESL Player Registration

SPRING 2024 REGISTERED PLAYERS MUST HAVE A TEAM.

Effective immediately, any player registered must have a team.

We have a couple of teams still looking for players, but majority of the teams have already maxed their rosters and we have created all of the new teams we can find coaches for.

If you are unable to find a team, please email us at neslsoccer@gmail.com

We will see if we know of any openings, and direct you if we can.

Thank you for your understanding!

RETURNING FALL 2023 Northeast Soccer League (NESL) PLAYERS that did not already pay for the Spring 2024 season:
Answer a few questions, sign the waivers/consents, and pay to complete registration.
It is important that you know the division/age group, your child's team name and the coaches name that your child played in during the Fall 2023 season.
Before making up information, please verify this information with your child’s coach.

NEW PLAYERS FOR SPRING 2024:
Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately so your registration is not delayed.

A few things you definitely need before starting the registration process as you will need to upload them:
1. A digital copy of your child's birth certificate as a new seasonal year requires us all to start over with the verification process. (A jpeg picture file is fine)
2. Take out your cell phone and take A NEW, CURRENT head shot of the child facing the camera just like a passport picture.
(A jpeg file is preferred) and it should meet the necessary requirements.

Acceptable Photo Required

Looking straight at the camera, shoulders straight YES Looking up or down NO
Includes objects or other people in the photo NO Head is not straight or tilted NO
A hat, headwear, or large hair accessories NO Photo Filters NO
Sunglasses NO Eyes closed NO
Black and white NO Glamour Shots NO

3. If the player lives in New Mexico, you will need the Interstate Release Form. Only complete the bolded blocks, then take a picture of the completed form to upload when required. The form is available on our website at
 https://www.nesl.org/page/show/3082965-nesl-player-registration

4. If the player was not born in the United States, you will need to upload a current passport. We are required to obtain International Clearance from US Youth Soccer, so you may be contacted via email from a league official asking for additional information.  To be prepared, we recommend that you review the International Clearance guidelines at https://www.stxsoccer.org/international-transfer-clearances

Failure to provide these documents will delay player registration.

To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express available.

If needed, you have the option to select a different language other than English below.

* NOTICE *
Once the season begins, any registrations submitted after 11:59 PM (MST) on Wednesdays will result in a delayed registration and your child will not be eligible to play until a week from that Saturday.

International Clearance Process (Required for players not born in the US)

Northeast Soccer League will contact you via email to determine the correct pathway to obtain International Clearance. In the event that additional documents and forms are required, they will need to be provided to NESL so that we can sign the required documents and expedite the process with our state association (South Texas Youth Soccer).
PLEASE do NOT send any documents directly to STYSA or USYS as this may delay the process.

If you wish to prepare ahead of time, please review the following webpage to determine the pathway you believe meets your circumstances: https://www.stxsoccer.org/international-transfer-clearances

US Youth New SafeSport Requirement for all U17 and above players

US Youth is now requiring any player that is 18 years old or will turn 18 years old within the current soccer year 22/23 (prior to July 31, 2023), to complete SafeSport Certification in order to be added to an official team roster.

This is the same SafeSport course that coaches, managers, and administrators have been completing.  This is for recreational and competitive players.

We have created these instructions to assist with you with the requirement process.

The following link is also available to take you to a step-by-step instructional guide to sign to take the course:  https://gotsport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/7327436429207-For-parents-and-players-Complete-and-sync-SafeSport-Training-minor-athletes-players-under-age-18-

Please remember, the player must log in with their profile log in, not the parent log in. So that player will need their own unique email added to their player profile as the user ID.  It should not be the parent email; needs to be a valid email. Also, please make sure to use the same legal first name, last name and that email in SafeSport when that account is created.

If the player does not know their password, they can hit password reset after they have a valid email added to their profile as a user id.
